Inside Line Promotions – BURLINGTON, Wash. (May 11, 2026) – Trey Starks earned his third straight win in the 360ci winged sprint car division to start the season at Skagit Speedway last Saturday.
Starks qualified fifth quickest before he won a heat race to make the feature redraw. He landed the No. 2 to line up on the outside of the front row and capitalized, dominating the race to win by 9.675 seconds.
“The beginning of the night was uncharacteristic of us,” he said. “I wasn’t decisive enough on where to run in qualifying and just missed it both laps. We went out late and the track was changing. I don’t think I executed it very well. We were fifth quick, which put us in a must-win situation in the heat race. Luckily, we did win. In the redraw, we drew the outside front row, which helped a lot. We got into clean air quickly and instantly I felt really, really good anywhere I put the car. I knew we’d have a good chance to win. I was glued down to the track anywhere I wanted to go. It made traffic nice as I could pick and choose where I wanted to go. I’m really happy with how that car is feeling right now.”
Starks also made his 410ci season debut. He was second quickest in qualifying and advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race. Starks closed the night with a fourth-place result in the A Main.
“We were off a little bit,” he said. “The track was better for the 360 main event. In the 410 main event, which was first, there wasn’t an option but the very bottom in turns three and four. Also, the 360 car we’re running has been our 410 car the past three years so we know exactly what we need to do. The 410 car is brand new so there’s a bit of a learning curve. We were close, but not as good as we want to be. We ran a faster lap in the 360 feature than the fastest lap by anybody in the 410 A Main. That car is dialed in right now. We just need to get the 410 car where that is and we’ll be just fine.”
Starks currently leads the 360 championship standings at Skagit Speedway by 44 points. He ranks third in the 410 championship standings – eight points out of second place and 12 points behind the leader.
The next event for Starks is a 410 race at Skagit Speedway this Saturday.
